Col. Vijay Bhaskar, Managing Director

Vijay is from the Indian Army Corps of Engineers. He did his MBA from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Vijay has headed a logistics infrastructure SBU at Maytas and was the CEO of Coromandel Energy. He was Country Director-India for the Paris based Mlinda Foundation and Managing Director, Mlinda Sustainable Environment Private Limited. The flagship project involved rural electrification in ecologically sensitive and under-developed areas through renewable energy based mini-grids with a strong emphasis on rural economic development.

Sudeshna Mukherjee, Operations Director

Sudeshna did her Masters in Sociology and worked for over 20 years in international development organisations like CARE, CRS, DFID heading inclusive planning and project executions. Sudeshna was the Deputy Country Director of Mlinda Foundation from June 2011 to August 2021 and Director Operations in MSEPL from 2016 to August 2020. Sudeshna headed productive use of energy (PUE) and capacity building in rural electrification project in Gumla, Jharkhand. Her singular achievement has been to ensure over 21% growth in personal and entrepreneur incomes year-on-year in 40 villages with a low carbon footprint.

Rebecca Symington, Director

Rebecca Symington has been involved in the access to energy sector for close to 15 years. Since 2023 she is on the leadership team of the GET. Invest Finance Catalyst team, a European-funded programme providing transaction advisory services to over 150 renewable energy small and medium enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa, Pacific and Caribbean regions to access investments. Prior to this appointment, Rebecca oversaw access-to-energy programmes for the UK NGO Energy 4 Impact and US NGO Mercy Corps where she oversaw programmes related to clean cooking, energy for productive use and energy in humanitarian settings as well as advisory support for SMEs entering the markets of Sub-Saharan Africa. Rebecca also spent ten years as Director of a French foundation where she contributed to the programme which developed 40 mini-grids in rural West Bengal and Jharkhand. Prior to working in renewable energy, Rebecca had a career with UN agencies and non-governmental organisations working on international development and humanitarian emergencies in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and South East Asia.

Arunava Roychoudhury, Finance Head

Arunava did his Masters in Commerce and has worked for over 14 years in the realm of training and enterprise building in leading organization. He headed pico-grid operations in the Sundarbans, West Bengal for four years. He incubated and headed successfully two end-to-end rural agri-businesses powered by mini grids, based out Jharkhand. He also innovated a repayments system involving loan repayments of joint liability groups over four blocks in the Sundarbans.

Jayeeta Dey, Junior Manager – Accounts and Administration

Jayeeta has a Masters in Commerce and 12 years’ experience in managing accounts in leading organisations and banking sector. She exudes positivity and looks forward to contribute to rural development in Nagaland.

Shyamal Kumar Bera, Manager

Shyamal is an Electrical Engineer and worked over 7 years at Sundarbans in West Bengal and East-Singbhum/ Gumla in Jharkhand across both pico and mini-grid projects. He headed EPC, system design, mini grid installations and O&M of over 40 mini-grids in Gumla, Jharkhand. He is a trained Master Trainer on solar energy through the Skill India Initiative of the Government of India.

Rickranjan Pal, Deputy Manager

Rickranjan is an Electrical Engineer and worked for over 4 years in the Gumla, Jharkhand. He is an expert on Solar Mini-grid installation. Also, He has hands-on experience in mini-grid operations, repair maintenance, and growth of productive use of energy.

Lalan Kumar, Deputy Manager- Technical & Procurement

Lalan is a Mechanical Engineer with a keen eye for technical innovation. He has worked for over 5 years in mini-grid projects in Gumla, Jharkhand. He is a specialist on technical optimization, logistics, supply chain and mini-grid operations. He also has huge experience in training and capacity building.

Shangamba Bariamtak, Project Officer

Shangamba is a science grad from St Joseph’s college and has worked for over a year on mini-grids in Nagaland. He excels in mini-grid operations, maintenance, and growth of productive use of energy.

Psalm Bariam, Junior Project Officer

Psalm holds a diploma in Electrical engineering; He presently looks after all aspects of mini-grid operations, community relations, village level micro-enterprises and grid maintenance.

Shamwang Konyak, Office Executive

Shamwang has a flair for music and great culinary skills. He coaches young children in Math and English. He is responsible for logistics and maintenance of Hamara Grid assets at Mon, Nagaland.

Yeangba Konyak, Junior Project Officer

Yeangba holds a B.Tech in computer science from Kaziranga University.
A bright and enthusiastic engineer, he looks after all aspects of mini-grid operations, community relations, village level micro-enterprises and grid maintenance.

Souradeep Datta, Assistant. Manager

Souradeep is an energetic electrical engineer with over 8 years’ experience in Operations and Maintenance (O&M) in the Telecom sector in North-East India. He will be coordinating key O&M and logistic activities for Hamara Grid’s expansion as well as oversee Project MIS.

Mrinmoy Gorai, Junior Project Officer

Mrinmoy is an engineer specializing in Renewable Energy and is part of the Installations Team which is rolling out Hamara’s expansion from 10 to 50 minigrids.

Panglem Konyak, Junior Project Officer

Panglem is a young, enthusiastic graduate from Tizit , Mon district. He is very keen to learn and work on mini grid installations as well as operations and make a difference to how mini grid solutions impact rural communities. He will look after the Wakching division.

Soumya Jana, Junior Project Officer

Soumya is an electrical engineer from the Hoogly Institute of Technology, West Bengal. He has experience in electrical transmission and operations work. He is keen to work in the distributed renewable energy (DRE) space, with a particular focus on mini grid installations. He will be a key member of our mini grid installation team in Mon, Nagaland. Apart from his interest in DRE, Soumya is an avid cricketer and a keen photographer.

Moba H Konyak, Junior Project Officer

Moba is a graduate from Nagaland University (Modern College, Kohima) and has played a proactive role in development of Mon villages in Nagaland. He has strong knowledge of local Konyak communities and excels in inclusive community engagement. Moba has developed deep expertise on mini grid installations through actual implementation work at the ground level. Mobah loves football and is a die-hard fan of Lionel Messi!

Noke Konyak, Junior Project Officer

Noke is a graduate from Nagaland University (Mount Mary College, Chumoukedima ) and hails from one of our operational villages of Tangnyu in Mon, Nagaland. Noke is keen on learning more about renewable energy and has developed his skills and knowledge on solar mini grid installations. He is also an enthusiastic entrepreneur and has set up his own electric rice hulling business powered by the solar mini grid in his native village.

W Ape Konyak, Admin & Logistics Officer

Ape is a civil engineer topper from Govt. Polytechnic College of Aboi, Nagaland. He joined Hamara Grid through a campus interview. He is responsible for the Logistics and Supply Chain management of the solar mini grids in Mon, Nagaland. When he is not busy coordinating and managing the supply chain at Mon, Ape loves listening to good music.
